Vieques: An Environmental Crisis

During the morning of Friday, October 9, 2020, the last activity of the week, "Vieques: An Environmental Crisis", occured. At the time of this conference, members of the IGEM RUM-UPRM team presented the environmental crisis in Vieques, what factors have caused it and how iGEM RUM-UPRM is proposing to counteract it through synthetic biology. IGEM RUM-UPRM offers a solution to biodegrade and bioremediate contaminants in Anones Lagoon, Vieques.
High school students, university students and the general community from all over Puerto Rico participated in the conference. We presented our project to over 40 people and received their feedback on our project.
